About Me
I’ve never fit neatly into a single box—I like to learn, explore, and be challenged, whether through sports, problem-solving, or interesting business propositions. Every experience has influenced how I approach challenges, opportunities, and growth.
At my core, I value movement, competition, efficiency, and being useful to others. It’s not just how I work—it’s how I think, train, and connect with people.
This page is a glimpse into who I am outside of my career—the influences that shaped me, the things I love, and the mindset that drives me forward.
Growing Up
I was born in Richland, Washington, but spent most of my childhood in Bellevue, where I moved with my family in second grade. As the youngest of four, I was lucky to grow up surrounded by strong role models—my two older sisters and eldest brother (nine years my senior) always challenged me in different ways, shaping my competitive nature and love for learning.
My parents set the bar high when it came to hard work and perseverance. My mom, a PhD in Environmental Engineering, and my dad, a Chief Engineer of IT Infrastructure at Boeing, both dedicated their careers to solving complex problems and staying committed to their companies through retirement. My older sister followed suit, earning a PhD in Bioinformatics. Watching them succeed gave me a deep respect for expertise, discipline, and persistence—values that have carried over into everything I do.
Meeting Shannon & Moving to Salt Lake City
One of the most defining moments in my life came when I met Shannon, the love of my life. We got married in 2016, and in 2017, I made the move to Salt Lake City as she pursued her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Utah. It was a huge transition—one that set me on a path of career growth, personal discovery, and new opportunities.
Shannon has been more than just my partner—she challenges me in the best way possible, always pushing me to see my own potential and strive to be better. Who I am today is deeply shaped by her influence, and I wouldn't be able to tell my story without including her.
Passions Beyond Work
Moving to Utah opened the door to a lifestyle that I’ve fully embraced. I’ve always been drawn to movement, competition, and the outdoors, and living in North Salt Lake with the Wasatch mountains in my backyard has been the perfect fit.
🏀 Sports & Competition
Growing up, I played soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, and track, eventually specializing in basketball, football, and high jump/hurdles in high school. In college, I played club basketball at Gonzaga, where our team made it to the Final Four of the national student-organized tournament. To this day, I love competing in basketball, sand volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and fitness races like Spartan & Hyrox.
🏋️ Rise4 Gym & Fitness
Shannon and I are part owners of Rise4, a gym that has become a major part of our lives and community. I train there regularly, coach group workouts, and helped develop the website for both the original location and its expansion in Holladay. Being part of a strong, motivated fitness community keeps me pushing myself every day, and I love connecting with the members!
🐾 Adventuring with Miles & Mowgli
Our two German Shorthaired Pointers, Miles & Mowgli, are always along for the ride. Living in North Salt Lake, we take full advantage of the Wasatch mountains in our backyard, hiking, trail running, and exploring new places every chance we get. Whether it’s a morning summit or an all-day adventure, they’re always ready to go.
🍽️ Food & Cooking
Cooking is one of my favorite ways to be creative and connect with others. I love sourcing high-quality ingredients, experimenting in the kitchen, and perfecting homemade sourdough bakes like English muffins, focaccia, pizza, and rustic loaves. Sharing a great meal—whether at home or out exploring new restaurants—is something I always look forward to.
The Things That Matter Most
At the end of the day, what drives me most is being useful—whether that’s through a listening ear, a creative mind for solving problems, or simply showing up when it matters. I find the greatest fulfillment in helping others move forward, making things easier, or creating something that genuinely improves a situation.
My career, my hobbies, and my relationships all center around learning, growing, and contributing where I can. If I can leave things better than I found them—whether that’s a process, a project, or a person’s confidence—then I know I’ve spent my time well.
